Opportunities for Spiritual Growth

Centering Prayer ~ We are reading from Martin Laird’s book, Into the Silent Land: The Practice of Contemplation. and then joining In Centering Prayer for 20 minutes.  All are invited to be a part of this group   as we experience and explore the contemplative prayer practice of Centering Prayer. No experience necessary!  Contemplative prayer is especially helpful in these uncertain times.  All are always welcome!

Living Gracefully ~ This group is a book study group of women that meets weekly via Zoom. Begun in 2018, they are currently reading Robert Fulghum’s book, Maybe (Maybe Not).  All women are invited to be a part of this group!  

Bible Study~ This group lead by Father Combs meets each Thursday in the Activity Center. Currently, the focus of study is the upcoming lectionary readings.

Adult Christian Education ~ Beginning April 27, Cathy Crosby will lead a four-week introduction to Ignatian spirituality. St. Ignatius of Loyola was born in 1491 in Spain. The unlikeliest of saints, he left a legacy of prayer and spiritual practices that continue to transform others around the globe. In the next weeks, we’ll explore praying with and in scripture, Finding God in All Things, the Spiritual Exercises and the Examen prayer, Discernment and Decision-making - all based on Ignatius’ lived experience and his remarkable story of conversion. St. Ignatius’ feast day is celebrated July 31. Please join us for all of these learning opportunities!!! Our Adult Christian Education class gathers weekly throughout the year at 3:30 p.m. on Saturdays at LOLC, and 11:00 a.m. on Sundays in the Activity Center. Opportunities to Serve

Altar Guild ~ work in teams prepare the altar and sacraments for the service

Flower Guild ~ provide flowers for each Sunday service

Lay Eucharistic Minister ~ assist in the service by reading the lessons and prayers, and serving the chalice during communion

Greeter ~ hand out bulletins, welcome guests and record attendance

Acolyte ~ assist in the service by processing the cross and gospel and serving the intincting chalice

Prayer Ministry ~ send notes and cards, welcome visitors and offer prayers for those in need

Opportunities to Connect

Episcopal Church Women ~ The women of the church gather quarterly for fellowship, fun and friendship. There is no fee and everyone is a member!

Quilters’ Guild ~ The idea of Redeemer Quilters began with a small group of ladies who wanted to pay tribute to a dear friend. The group makes quilts for seniors and for babies that include activities to support learning. No experience necessary to join!

Coffee Hours ~ After both the Saturday and Sunday services members of the parish provide light refreshments. For special occasions the church hosts a festive coffee hour!
